Jazz & Blues

Jazz is often referred to as one of the first real American cultural achievements. The very first beginnings of jazz were humble and even a bit dismal: black slaves in the Southern States had invented Blues as an entertainment during their hard work, as a mix between African rhythm and European folk music. Blues music influenced jazz and the other way around. But their influence went way beyond that. Music today has been heavily inspired by artists like Muddy Waters, Ray Charles and Miles Davis. Nowadays, jazz is a surprisingly complex art form, enjoyed worldwide by all kinds of music fans.

Are you a jazz geek? Us too! We love jazz and blues and have compiled a collection of music that includes all of the well-known standards (yes, Autumn Leaves!) from jazz and blues musicians throughout the 20th century. Browse our Gustaf Store to find the pieces that tickle your fancy and play them in our Gustaf App. Print a copy if needed, or keep a digital version in your Gustaf sheet music reading library. You can find the app for Apple iOS and Android, or in the browser on your computer.
